Internship

The internship of students is a globally recognized institution and constitutes an integral part of the education provided by Higher Education Institutions throughout Greece.

The institution of the Internship helps connect the theoretical training and skills acquired by students with the best work practices and the required knowledge base for each job position.

Additionally, through hands-on involvement with their field of study, the Internship contributes, in real-time and realistic conditions, to the further development of knowledge and skills of undergraduate students before their graduation.

Finally, it serves as a beneficial practice for the smooth transition of graduates into the job market and often contributes to finding employment positions for graduates.

Main Objectives of the Internship Program

  • Familiarizing students with the work environment and the requirements of a professional space, which will allow them to gain realistic views and valuable experiences regarding labor relations, compensation, and the labor market, as shaped in the Greek and European context.
  • Acquiring significant experiences and lessons from interns, who, upon returning to the Department, will share them with fellow students and faculty members, thus contributing to the upgrading of the provided education.
  • Introducing future graduates to well-established public and private organizations, services, and enterprises, to make the hiring of graduates or other graduates of the same Department more likely and easier.
  • Ensuring the two-way dissemination of knowledge and information between members of the academic community, future graduates of each Department, and the staff of organizations, services, and businesses, to achieve the connection between studies, research activities, and labor market needs.
  • Establishing strong cooperation between academic institutions and departments and public and private organizations, services, and businesses.
