Meals

Students of the University of Thessaly must submit their application for free meal provision electronically through the university’s dedicated online platform (https://merimna.uth.gr), using their institutional account credentials.

Applications must be submitted before the end of the current academic year, within the deadlines set by the Student Welfare Directorate, to ensure meal provision for the following academic year.

First-year students may submit their application electronically after completing their registration and verification process at their department’s Secretariat and obtaining their institutional account credentials, within the deadlines specified by the Student Welfare Directorate.

Housing

  • Student Housing Allowance
    Applications for the student housing allowance must be submitted electronically within the designated timeframe via the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs website (https://stegastiko.minedu.gov.gr) through the dedicated housing allowance application platform. If additional supporting documents are required from applicants, these must be sent to the relevant Student Welfare services either by post or electronically within two months from the application submission date.   • Student Residence in Karditsa
    The University of Thessaly provides student housing facilities within its premises in Karditsa. The Student Residence in Karditsa consists of two independent buildings with a total capacity of 104 beds.Student selection for accommodation is based on their financial and family circumstances. Health-related issues and other factors affecting the family’s financial situation are also taken into consideration.For more information, interested students may contact the Independent Department of Meals & Housing in Karditsa (Student Residence, Terma Mavromichali, Tel: +30 24410 72042, +30 24410 64746).

Healthcare Services

Uninsured undergraduate, postgraduate students, and PhD candidates are entitled to full medical, pharmaceutical, and hospital care within the National Health System (E.S.Y.), as per the circular issued by the Ministry of Education. The relevant expenses are covered by the National Organization for Healthcare Services Provision (E.O.P.Y.Y.).

Students must now access Public Health Facilities using their Social Security Number (AMKA), as the University has been unable to issue or renew health booklets for uninsured students since the academic year 2017-2018.
