Laboratory of Environment in Public and One Health (EPOH)
The Laboratory of Environment in Public and One Health serves the educational and research needs in the fields of Environmental Health and Radioprotection.
The aim of the Laboratory is to study the pathogenic effects of biological, chemical, and physical factors on Public and One Health, with the goal of diagnosis, prevention, and laboratory investigation of various diseases in humans and animals, utilizing innovative technologies in Biomedical Sciences.
The Laboratory covers a wide range of environmental factors, such as air, water, and soil pollution by biological or chemical agents, climatic conditions, ultraviolet and ionizing radiation, noise, electromagnetic fields, as well as occupational hazards. These factors are directly related to ensuring healthy conditions in the natural and social environment, as well as enhancing environmental factors that positively impact the health of humans and animals.
The Laboratory will contribute to the promotion of research, documentation, and education, as well as the enhancement of information and awareness regarding the impact of environmental risks on health.
Furthermore, it will support prevention policies, intervention strategies, and early diagnosis of environmental risks threatening public health.
