Laboratory of Public and One Health Crises Management (POHCM)

Laboratory of Public and One Health Crises Management (POHCM)
The Laboratory serves the educational and research needs in the field of Crisis Management in Public and One Health. It aims to study and promote research on the management of health crises within the broader context of Public and One Health, as well as to provide comprehensive training on the subject at the undergraduate level and through lifelong learning initiatives. The ultimate goal is to utilize this expertise through collaborations at the operational level.
The Laboratory addresses a wide range of emergencies that lead to population displacements or the concentration of populations, which require organized interventions to safeguard Public and One Health:
- Climate change
- Natural disasters
- Epidemic outbreaks
- Migration
- Asymmetric threats
Additionally, it studies the historical evolution of the patterns of pathological entities as they manifest in past health crises, aiming to create databases that will clarify the threats arising in such situations and record the risk factors, as well as the historical development of response and management systems.
